The **Battle of the Lucky Luiyk** was a [squatter
uprising](List_of_Libertarian_Socialist_Revolutions "wikilink") led by
the [kraakers](kraakers "wikilink") in Amsterdam,
[Netherlands](Netherlands "wikilink") in
[1980](Timeline_of_Libertarian_Socialism_in_Western_Europe "wikilink").
Squatters fought against police and neo-fascists in the streets, and
while able to successfully repel the fascists, the police succeeded in
evicting them. The notable arson of a
[streetcar](Transportation "wikilink") began to set public opinion
against the previously popular kraakens.\[1\]
