**Terence Kemp McKenna** (1946 - 2000) was a botanist, mystic,
psychonaut and [anarchist](Anarchism "wikilink") best remembered for his
defense of psychedelic drugs, exploration of shamanism, critiques of
language and culture, theories on consciousness and commentaries on
technology and the environment.
